Zoë - Founder
After working with children in various settings for over 20 years, I decided that I wanted to set up my own venture that fitted in around a young family. I have always had a love of the water, having been a competitive swimmer as a youngster, so I decided to train as a Shaw Method swimming teacher and Little Seahorses was born.
Since starting up in 2014, we have taught 100’s of children (and their families) valuable lifesaving, water safety and swimming skills. It has been a pleasure and an honour to watch children grow in confidence over the time they spend with us and become happy, confident, competent swimmers.
I have a love of all thing's nature, walking my four whippets and eating good food. I have three children and a wonderful husband who are my rocks. Since starting out, the company has grown to now include my extended ‘Little Seahorses’ family, Angie, Natalie and Siobhán, to whom I am extremely grateful for making us such a well know and well-loved brand.
Fun facts: I have done a 13-mile night walk and jumped out of a plane to raise money for the homeless. I was once on a gameshow called ‘Child’s Play’. My dad was a stunt double for James Bond.
Siobhán - Office Manager
I’ve spent most of my career working in the charity sector both here in the UK and in various countries in Africa for the United Nations as a Project Manager. I love organising and jumped at the chance to join Zoë and the team as working with Little Seahorses Swimming is like being part of a family. The dedication of the swim teachers is exceptional and it’s great to be able to support their hard work behind the Scenes.
I have 9 year old twins that keep me busy, entertained, and who I learn from every day! I love being outdoors, as well as reading, theatre, cinema and the arts.
Fun facts: I drove from West Africa back to the UK, across the Sahara desert in an old Toyota Hilux with no air conditioning.
Angela - Swim Teacher
I started my swim teaching journey with Little Seahorses in June 2021 and began teaching in March 2022.
My son was having lessons with Zoë, who asked if I’d be interested in training up. I’m so glad she did. I love being part of a fantastic team, working with children and their parents, and being in the water. The best part is watching them grow in confidence and pride in their swimming skills. Zoë's dedication to her staff is also amazing.
We receive ongoing Alexander technique training and swimming lessons among other things.
I’m also a yoga teacher specialising in pregnancy, birth preparation, postnatal recovery, babies, and children. I'm passionate about ease of movement, biomechanics, and primitive reflexes. I love swimming, nature, singing, music, and dancing. Plus, my 3 children are fun and teach me lots!
Natalie - Swim Teacher
Having worked in the design world for the past 20 years, it was a wonderful chance to be given the opportunity by Zoë to train with her.
Happiest in water from a young age, I was a Swimming Captain & County Swimmer, it was a no-brainer. A little older I still have a love of sports from skiing to rock climbing.
I have 2 young girls who also keep me on my toes, both have lessons with Little Seahorses & are becoming great little swimmers. A sausage dog called Vivienne and my veterinary husband make up our family, we love the great outdoors!
Fun facts - I’m swimming 21 miles for MacMillan, favourite movie is The Hobbit, done the
highest bungy jump in the Southern Hemisphere rode an elephant in the jungle
